Guard YOUR Heart! Part 2 of He Told YYYY-OOOOO-UUUUUU!!!
Just about everyone I know has had their heart broken at some point, and as far as the others go that say they haven't....welll, I'm thinking they're probably in denial. A broken heart does not discriminate based on age, gender, race and so on and it doesn't feel good...AT ALL! There are times when it can't be avoided, such as the death of a loved one. But there are other times, when it could have been avoided...it was your fault! Yessss, your fault (my fault too!). Up until about a couple of weeks, I blamed everyone else for the times when my heart has been broken...****He did this, she did this, he said that, she said that, he wrong for that, she didn't have to do that, and to think I trusted her, I don't have nothing for him anymore...he can go to......you get what I mean**** Well guess what?? It was not THEIR responsibility to guard my heart! (Whew! That was hard to say!) Were they wrong, especially if it was intentional? Yes! But that does excuse, overlook, cover up the fact that I did not do what I was told to do? No! I was told to guard MY heart! In other words I put myself in a position that caused my heart to be hurt. God gave you charge over your own heart in Proverbs 4:23 Guard your heart above all else for it determines the course of your life (NLT)...The Message Bible says "that's where life starts".... Of course this was written by David, but it was inspired by God so at the end of the day, He(God) told YYYY-OOOO-UUUUU!!! If you don't get anything else from this, please get this: Your heart is precious and of great value because it determines how your life is going to play out...it determines the path you are going to take in life...in my mind, it's more important than your DNA and DNA is what makes your overall, complete, unique being...but it's still more important! It's of more value than all of your possessions put together....billions of dollars cannot fix a broken heart...I don't care what anyone says......Soooo why would YOU let people play with YOUR heart??? Stop handing it over, make up your mind to stop letting any and everyone into your heart...(this is not a voucher to allow you to be cold hearted...I'll deal with that at another time)....Look at yourself, look at your family, look at your friends, look at your co-workers, look at your church members...how many people can you identify that are either depressed, lonely, sad, hurt, miserable, and/or unhappy?? I can bet you that the source of the majority of that is the heart and it's issues! And for that reason, that's one of the reasons why we encounter a lot of emotional problems and emotional problems lead to so many other problems...Where do you start in resolving these issues and getting on a better path (we can all afford to have a better path) First, give your heart to God, and then guard it (YOU, not Mama, not Daddy, not your best friend, not your spouse, not your guy or girl...YOU guard YOUR heart) And for those of you who are in the midst of experiencing a broken heart, or have never healed from having your heart broken in the past...here is your comfort: Psalms 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.....Now to know that YOU messed up (yeah, I said messed up) and put your heart in a position to be broken and God sees that but yet He still will run to you and rescue you and stay with you lets you know that YOU and YOUR heart are of extremely great value in His eyes, no number can measure that value...for that YOU should want to guard it and only allow those that He tells YOU are worthy of experiencing what your heart has to offer to enter into that experience....Remember: He told YYYYY-OOOOO-UUUU!!!

Karen this is excellent. That's probably one of my favorite scriptures because its so true and we fail to do so and end up hurt. Definitely a great reminder for me. Thanks for sharing!
