Days of Our Lives, Part II

If you know me, then you know my godbabies are my heart...a 3 year old goddaughter and a 2 year old godson...and it seemed like just yesterday they were laying in cribs at Delta Regional as we welcomed them into the world...now they are driving us crazy on a daily basis, and I say that with love...the little girl explaining to me how the world works and the little boy climbing on me, wrestling me down, both calling my best friend's (their mom) and my name every 28 seconds...I think it's a conspiracy to wear us down...lol!!! But as much as they can drive us crazy, they cause our days to be filled with joy, laughter, and are rays of sunshine in our lives, true blessings...we wouldn't trade them for the world...and as I looked at them last night, growing up so fast and learning so much so quickly...I am reminded of another statement my Grandad used to make all the time (if you remember from part I, it was "Time has a way of changing things")...this other statement he frequently said was "Time waits for no man" and that sounds so simple but yet look at again, say it to yourself...no matter what children learn or don't learn, no matter what they do or don't do, no matter if you enjoy the moments or you don't enjoy the moments with them, whether it's tough times or great times, time will NOT stop!!! That's why we take time to enjoy the moments and the days with them!!! They will one day be adults...and it is the same way with our lives...time does not wait on us...the day does not stop because you decide you don't like what someone did to you yesterday, and you wake up with a bad attitude...the day goes on without you, whether you decide to participate or not...it goes on...If you haven't learned to maximize every moment, I urge you to do so...start TODAY...this is YOUR DAY...because HE has given it to you...this doesn't mean you have to spend it busy with work, or running here and there, or spend every moment talking (I need sooome help in that area, whew!). It even means that YOU CAN maximize your resting time, your vacation time, quiet moments with your loved ones...Remember the devil comes to do three things: Steal, Kill, and Destroy and  a lot of times it's not a direct attack, it's an indirect attack...if He can still a day at a time from you, then He can still years from you...and his strategy is to tell you if you lost yesterday, then you might as well give up on today....THAT'S A LIEEEEEEEEE!! You could have had the wrong mindset and behavior for 30 years, but if you wake up ONE day and choose to change ONE thing for the better, that's the beginning! What a difference a day makes!!!!  And today I present you with even better news: You cannot get time back you have lost, but you can redeem the time!!! What do I mean by that? You remember when you didn't finish pursuing your education, you remember when you didn't start your business, you remember when you didn't lose that weight, you remember when you didn't take that much needed vacation, you remember when you didn't obey God...unh huh...yeah, you remember, because I clearly remember what I didn't do just yesterday... think about it...it will come to you...seek God and His will, and guess what? All that time you wasted, I believe He will let you make it up if you're obedient...and God's make up session goes much faster than man's...I'm a living witness...because I don't know about y'all but I can MESS UP some stuff...I have messed up "a many day" got some areas in my life now that I'm having to stand back and evaluate the mess (that's another blog) but I do know some of my wasted time is being redeemed even as I type this... remember Ephesians 5:15-16 from Part I of this series...the King James Version says "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." And v. 17 says "Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." Now only God can give us some days, we mess them up, didn't do what we were supposed to do with them, and then He gives us more time to do what we didn't do and speeds up  the process so we'll have time to reap the benefits, enjoy the results, only thing He asks us to is be obedient and exercise the wisdom He gives!!!  Now if you don't get excited about that...I ought to slap YOU through this screen! *SSSSLLLLAAAAAPPPP* That's for the folks that still don't get it.......Let me put like this I AM GLAD THAT GOD ISN'T A GOD OF A SECOND CHANCE, BUT A GOD OF ANOTHER CHANCE" ....I passed my second chance thousands of chances ago!!! He gives you another day everyday for a reason!!!  Psalms 90:12 says "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom" ... Tell God to show you how to use each day wisely so that you will have the life He wants you to have, a life of abundance...so you know that degree you didn't get it, you can get it, you know that right relationship you don't have, you can have it; you know that soulmate that's intended for you, you can have him or her; that business you didn't start, you can start it; those pounds you didn't lose, you can lose them; that bad attitude you can't seem to get rid of, you can get rid of it; that life He promised you that you don't have, He will give it you!!! These are YOUR DAYS, these are MY DAYS, these are the DAYS OF OUR LIVES....I'm determined to maximize the moment, you should try it!!!!!!!!!!!  Have a great DAY!!!!!!

Days of Our Lives, Part I

Sooo today I was talking to an old friend, and I realized several years ago, this same friend and I were at odds...the reason is still clear in my mind, but the frustration, anger, and all of those other emotions associated with the disagreement at the time have vanished, they are but a memory...can't even force them to come back if I wanted to...and yet in my memory, I cannot recall any one, specific thing, word, interaction that caused all the disagreement, the unforgiving spirit, the angry words, the hostile thoughts to no longer exist. However, I do remember a phrase that I would hear my Grandad say often "Time has a way of bringing about a change." And so I realized that the years have a caused a change, in this case, a change for the better...it started out one way, but as the days passed, the days turned into weeks, and as the weeks passed, the weeks turned into months, and as the months passed, the months turned into years...As we go into 2012, people want to change soooo many things and make all of these resolutions... and that's fine...even though I don't make resolutions but I focus more on goal settings and the steps required to meet those goals....but as you look forward to change and growth, make sure you focus on the days and how you will handle each day...for the days will make the year, and if you don't master the days, you won't master the year...Ephesians 5:15-16 says "Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil." Stop allowing your days to be stolen away with unforgiveness in your heart, anger, frustration, always complaining, always looking crazy, looking like you don't have anything to be thankful for...GET OVER IT!!! Because you will have held the foolishness in you for so many days that you will look around and it would have been years...and at the same time if something or someone needs to be fixed in your life that you have no control over...don't allow your mind to spend unnecessary time worrying yourself about them or it...let Him control it...before you know it, you will look up and it will be fixed! These are the DAYS OF YOUR LIFE...and if you are of age...there are 2 people responsible for YOUR DAYS...YOU AND GOD...nobody else!!! Look forward to every day He gives, for in each day a brand new beginning can be found!!! And just because you don't do it right on January 1, 2012 or you do it right January 1, 2012, but you don't do it right on January 10, 2012...doesn't mean you give up!!! Keep pushing!!! His mercies are brand new every day...and as for me I get excited knowing He gives me a fresh start every day...I can choose to build on what I did the day before or I can decide to change it and choose to do something different...You are a day away from a breakthrough, you are a day away from being drug free, you are a day away from being out of a bad relationship, you are a day away from owning your own successful business, you are a day away from being debt free, you are a day away from enjoying life, you are a day away from peace, you are a day away from what you would like to happen in your life as long as you TRUST HIM, and put forth the effort...WHY, YOU ASK? Because though the end result(s) may be a week away, a month away, or even YEARS away...the process, the means, the decisions start with A DAY....so these are the days of your life and the days of my life...These are the DAYS OF OUR LIVES..........

Is It Really A "GOOD" Morning????

The most common greeting in the morning is of course "Good Morning". Most times we say it without even thinking...Someone greets us with a "Good Morning" and most of us respond with a "Good Morning" most of the time...I have been known to mumble it or just wave especially when I first get up...I am NOT a morning person, but I have been somewhat delivered from what I call "Morning Foolishness"... I don't like people talking to me before 8...I'll text, but I don't want to talk...but one thing about my dear, sweet mother (and if you know my mother, you'll know I'm being sarcastic, lol, she's sweet, but good Lawd, that's another blog) she speaks "Good Morning" loud and clear and she doesn't care if I respond, roll my eyes, wave, mumble or what...if we're around each other in the morning, she still does it! One thing I have never uttered though is "What's good about it?" as I have heard some people say...I used to think that they were miserable, foolish people that didn't recognize their blessings and that it was a new day...would they really say that and God has given them breath... I really looked at these people with disgust...UNTIL TODAY!!! This morning God spoke to me and said how different are you? If you wake up rolling your eyes and thinking "Lord, another day, I don't feel like this today" and mumbling and grumbling, how different are you?? My attitude reflects my emotions and we can't live in emotions...this morning I was aggravated by how many different situations I'm waiting on God to resolve, fix, turn around...I was aggravated by the fact that I see the financial situations, the family situations, the career situations, and so on still sitting there and I'm still waiting on him to fix...and the aggravation flared up when someone that could help, but didn't help made me mad last night...so I carried it into another day! Listen people, no matter what the situation, the circumstance, the problems, it is  a GOOD morning, and a GREAT DAY!!! Why? Because He created it, and He only creates what? Good and perfect things!!! It's up to us to put aside what we're struggling with and TRUST Him that despite whatever we're going through, that it is indeed a GOOD morning, and a GREAT DAY...as long as you lose control and allow Him to control the day, then it will be just that...You may not see what you want to see in that day, but I'm reminded of my favorite scripture Romans 8:28 " And we know that God causes everything to work togethert for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.  So guess what? That means every struggle, every heartache, every pain, every battle, every great person in your life, every evil person in your life, what you do, what God does, what the devil does, AAAALLLLLLL  of it works together for your good. Even your mistakes and your wrongdoing! Yep, I said your mistakes and your wrongdoing will work together for your GOOOOOOODDD! Is that a license to sin and do wrong? Nope, because there are still consequences, but in the end it works for your good. The Word said EVERYTHING! Don't ask me how a God can work EVERYTHING out for your good...just know that He's God and He is more than able!!! There is something we have to do: Love Him and walk in the purpose for which He has made us...and ALL of us have a purpose! Don't know what you're called to do or your purpose? Ask Him to reveal it to you and then walk in it! People it's not hard, we make it hard! The Message Translation says: That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.  So no matter what you have going on...I don't care what it is...it can be the best of the best or the worst of the worst...He is working it out for your GOOD! So guess what is a GOOD MORNING and a GREAT DAY!!!! From this day forward, say it every morning to HIM and to your loved ones, your co workers, even strangers, and mean it! Own it! It's yours! Sooooooo....GOOD MORNING! HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!! :):):):):):)

Untie, Untape Those People...Pleeeeaaaassseeee!!!

I've been wanting to talk about this for several weeks, and I think now is the right time...I am tired of watching people being held hostage by other people as well as by themselves. I'm tired of seeing people struggle with being free when freedom is theirs to enjoy...My girl Nina motivated me to go ahead and do this through latest FB post and her latest blog... if you haven't checked her out, you're missing out...Her latest post is BE FREE where she discusses being bound by past hurts, pains, tragedies, the unimaginable. So last night I haaaddd to do a new video called UNTIE, UNTAPE THOSE PEOPLE, which is a call to stop holding people back because of they're afraid of what you might think or say if they call for help! And if you're someone being held hostage in form or fashion, meaning you can't be who are called to be because of what people think or say, you can't experience a true relationship with God because people have their eye on your faults instead of on you and what you stand in need of, check this video out...

Where Are All My Allies?

There are more times than a few that I've been in a situation where I felt like I did have a plan or a strategy that would correct what was going in the situation. I'm a very observant and an analytical person so when I get in a position where I don't know what my next move is going to be, then frustration shows up! I'm always thinking ahead "what if, what if"... currently I'm in a situation that I'm having to ride it out and it seems as if I have no allies...I've been in similar situations before, but I always had and ally or two, or three, but now I'm in a battle and seems as if I have no allies...So many of us are feeling that way in all types of of situations and relationships: in families, among friends, on jobs, in marriages, in churches, in social group. Whatever the situation may be please remember that you do have an ally...Check out the video below!

Getting Past Your Trust Issues

We have a lot of trust issues, one in particular, the most important one, is our trust issue in regards to God...pleeeease take the time to check this video out...It is the foundation for my blog...Doing this blog and the videos are me stepping outside of the box and truly trusting Him. In my first video, you heard me say I'm struggling with doing this and some of it is due to my trust issues...We quote Proverbs 3:5 alllll the time but we're still struggling...so let's stop just quoting it and believe it...Let me know what you think!

Live and Learn

I wrote this a couple of years ago and it still stands...wait, I did have to take a few curse words out...hey, I said it was a couple of years ago and I said we were going to be real up in here...I'm just saying...ain't God good? My choice of words are continuously getting better...lol!

Just Something to think about...

This is what I have learned along the way...

 I have learned...that I may stumble and fall, but as long as I know why I fell and I get up then it's okay

 I have learned...that I can't help who I love, but I can choose how I love them and I can avoid allowing them to make a fool out of me

 I have learned that to be saved means that all my sins, past, present, and future are paid for and that I'm not perfect but I am striving for perfection

 I have learned that to be a TRUE Christian means God grants us grace and forgives our sins and that there will be times I will sin, but that I should not want to sin and should do what I can not to sin.

 I have learned that there are leaves, branches, and roots in my life and once I determine who is what, accept them for who they are, then I don't have to worry about what will happen with the relationship.

 I have learned that living, loving, and laughing are the keys to life. To laugh sometimes means keeping the line drawn between sanity and insanity. I am able to find something to laugh about (to me laughter is almost as natural as breathing) everyday of my life because I am grateful to be alive. And because I am grateful to be alive, then loving myself and others come naturally.

I have learned that to be truly happy means to love yourself no matter what, to accept your faults, not be ashamed of your weaknesses, take advantage of your strengths,

I have learned that I AM BEAUTIFUL and there is nothing anyone can do to take that away permanently!

I have learned that A HATER'S JOB IS TO HATE. Let them HATE! Because when they are hating I'm doing something right. I also know that anyone who reads this and frowns up, says something negative, or thinks that I am saying too much is a HATER!

I have learned that "keeping it real" means to remember and appreciate where you came from, tell the  truth as much as possible, play yourself up gracefully whenever possible, to cease from tearing people down all the time, recognize there are others on your level or better and have the ability to give them their props, to tell others the truth about your current state in life (no matter how good or bad) or to shut the heck up if you feel the need to lie. (There will be a future blog on this topic)

I have learned that a "REALLY REALLY REALLY REAL" FRIEND is HARD to come by. When you find that person, don't ever lose touch with them! I am thankful to have mine!

I have learned that in life there will be disappointments, upsets, defeats, attacks, and struggles, but my hopes and dreams can (and have) turn into REALITY if I just keep on the course set for me.

Welcome to Loooooooooose Control!!!!

I've been debating on doing this blog, but after some hesitation, I came to the conclusion that this is exactly what I am supposed to do. Through this blog I want to offer what the heading says "Real Talk with Real People Living Real Lives for a Real God"! Meaning if you're religious, this might not be the blog for you...then again, this is exactly the blog for you...Religion is going through the motions and speaking the language... a relationship (with God) means allow Him to move through you and speak through you...there is definitely a difference...I pray that this blog attracts saved, unsaved, religious, those with real relationships, those that think they have a relationship, and anybody else that can be blessed by this blog...I pray it makes you think, it moves you to evaluate your life, to help someone, to make some changes for the better, to laugh until you cry (I love to laugh)...to get a true understanding of who you are, who God is, and what He has for your life...greatness...all while being real and relevant to you...I want to keep it real for you, the reader/suscriber and keep it right so what He has to say is clear to you! So get ready...we're going to get this started!

In this blog, I will be revealing my struggles, my victories, how I can sometimes get in the way of myself, my growth, my discoveries, my achievements, my failures...where I am in my walk/how the process is going...I am going to reveal what I can reveal (y'all can't know everything, lol) but I'm determined to help others as I help myself by getting in tune with my Father! Yeeaahhhhhh! It's not going to be all pretty up in here, but it will be what's necessary!!!
